In skincare, we would hardly consider cleansing and moisturising to be the same thing. This distinction is also at the heart of the GLOWBAG routine.
GLOW CLEANER was developed to clean suitable smooth leather and canvas surfaces. Its water-based formula removes surface dirt, grease, make-up and typical everyday marks without added alcohol.
GLOW CONDITIONER is then used on suitable genuine leather. Its formula with lanolin and orange oil moisturises the leather, helps maintain its supple feel, visibly refreshes the colour and supports protection against environmental influences such as sun, rain and dust.
Coated canvas, on the other hand, does not need a leather conditioner. Here, material-appropriate cleaning is what matters.
The principle is simple: clean what needs cleaning. Condition what needs care.
A handbag isn't simply “made of leather”
Chanel Caviar, soft lambskin, grained calfskin, Louis Vuitton canvas or Vachetta: even a single handbag can combine several materials that need to be treated very differently.
That’s why GLOWBAG also has clear limits.
Suede leathers such as suede, nubuck and velour, highly porous aniline leather and delicate exotic leathers, for example, are not materials for which our classic GLOWBAG care routine is intended. We also treat new, very light Vachetta differently from Vachetta that has already developed a patina. That may sound less spectacular than “suitable for all leather.”
But for us, that’s exactly the point.
The difference isn't about promising more.
It’s about looking more closely. What type of leather is it? Is the surface coated or porous? Does the material need cleaning, conditioning – or is it better left untreated?
