The CANVAS GLOW FOAM is a water-based cleaning foam for coated canvas. It removes surface dirt such as make-up, handling marks and everyday dirt and is easy to apply exactly where you need it thanks to its foam texture.

The GLOW BRUSH made from 100% natural horsehair helps work the cleaning foam into the surface. Its fine, soft bristles support thorough and even cleaning, particularly on heavier dirt and textured surfaces.

Suitable for coated canvas and many suitable textile materials. For delicate or unfamiliar materials, we recommend testing the cleaning foam on an inconspicuous area first.

Not suitable for genuine leather. For suitable smooth and grained leather, we recommend the GLOW CLEANER.

Application

IMPORTANT: Test on a hidden area before first use.

Apply CANVAS GLOW FOAM to the GLOW BRUSH or directly onto the soiled area. Work in gently using circular motions and lather up. Remove any residue with a clean microfibre cloth. No rinsing required.

For cleaning smooth or grained leather, we recommend the GLOW CLEANER.

Caring for your GLOW BRUSH: Mix lukewarm water with a few drops of mild soap in a bowl. Dip the brush, move it gently and then rinse under running water. Take care to prevent water from penetrating the wood. Leave to dry flat on a clean cloth at room temperature.

Why designer handbags need a different care routine

High-quality handbags are made from a wide range of leathers and materials – from delicate lambskin and calfskin to grained leather and coated canvas. Each of these materials has different cleaning and care needs.

That’s exactly where GLOWBAG comes in. Instead of treating bag care like traditional shoe care, GLOWBAG takes inspiration from skincare: cleanse first, then condition. The GLOW CLEANER removes surface dirt, while the GLOW CONDITIONER moisturises suitable leather afterwards and helps keep it supple.

The formulas are water-based and made without added alcohol. The Conditioner contains ingredients including lanolin and natural orange oil, while the Cleaner contains plant and orange peel extracts as well as glycine.

Founder Story

From the idea to a care solution

It all started with my 2012 Chanel Flap in lambskin. I loved that bag and wore it for years – until I treated it with a leather care product that didn’t agree with it at all. The leather turned grey, dull and sticky.

I was disappointed. And angry. Mainly because I thought I was doing something good for my bag. When I started looking for an alternative, I realised that many leather care products were originally developed for shoes, furniture or other leather goods. But I wanted something made specifically for high-quality handbags.

So I developed GLOWBAG and rethought bag care – inspired by skincare. Water-based formulas, cleaning and conditioning as two separate steps, tailored to the different materials used in high-quality handbags.

Answers to the most frequently asked questions

What distinguishes Glowbag from conventional leather care?

GLOWBAG was developed specifically for cleaning and caring for high-quality handbags and is inspired by skincare. Just like in a skincare routine, cleaning and conditioning are two separate steps: the water-based GLOW CLEANER removes surface dirt, while the GLOW CONDITIONER moisturises suitable leather afterwards and helps keep it supple.

Both formulas are water-based and made without added alcohol. This turns bag care into a simple routine tailored to the different materials used in high-quality handbags.

What types of leather is Glowbag suitable for?

GLOWBAG is suitable for many smooth and grained genuine leathers such as lambskin, calfskin and caviar leather. The GLOW CLEANER can also be used on suitable coated canvas, patent leather and suitable synthetic surfaces. The GLOW CONDITIONER is intended exclusively for suitable genuine leather.

GLOWBAG care products are not suitable for suede, nubuck, velour, highly porous leather or delicate exotic leathers. If you’re unsure about the material, test GLOWBAG on an inconspicuous area first.

Can I use GLOWBAG on vintage bags?

Yes, GLOWBAG can be suitable for many vintage handbags. What matters most is not simply the age of the bag, but the material and its condition.

Before using GLOWBAG on a vintage bag, check what type of leather or material it is and whether the surface is still intact. On suitable smooth and grained leather, the GLOW CLEANER can remove surface dirt and the GLOW CONDITIONER can moisturise the leather afterwards and help keep it supple. Always test on an inconspicuous area first.

Important: Patina, deeply absorbed stains, discolouration or existing material damage cannot always be removed through cleaning or care.

Is Glowbag also suitable for vachetta leather?

GLOWBAG can be used carefully on evenly patinated Louis Vuitton Vachetta leather. Always treat a continuous area of leather evenly rather than spot-cleaning individual stains. Apply the GLOW CLEANER with a cloth rather than spraying it directly onto the leather.

New, very light Vachetta is particularly sensitive to moisture. We do not recommend treating it with GLOW CLEANER or GLOW CONDITIONER. Instead, we recommend using a suitable waterproofing treatment. With older Vachetta, natural patina cannot be removed or stopped through cleaning, and deeply absorbed stains may remain.

How often should I use Glowbag - and for how many applications is one set sufficient?

We recommend cleaning and conditioning your bag every 4-8 weeks - depending on use, weather and leather type. One Glowbag Duo contains 100 ml each of cleaner and conditioner and is sufficient for approx. 20-30 complete applications - depending on the size of your bag. Ideal for bag lovers with several favourite pieces - or for intensive care over many months. And if you need to care for a pair of leather sandals in between: Don't worry - it will last even longer 😉.

Vielen Dank für Dein Feedback. Wir möchten die Gelegenheit nutzen, den Unterschied kurz zu erklären, da diese Frage auch für andere Kundinnen und Kunden hilfreich sein kann.

Der CANVAS GLOW FOAM wurde ausschließlich zur Reinigung entwickelt. Er enthält weder Farbpigmente noch Inhaltsstoffe, die Canvas oder Stoff einfärben. Eine Farbauffrischung oder das Wiederherstellen verblasster Farben bei Canvas oder Stoff versprechen wir daher auch an keiner Stelle.

Die Prada Canapa besteht aus unbeschichtetem Baumwoll-Canvas – also einem Stoffgewebe aus Segeltuch. Unser CANVAS GLOW FOAM wurde hingegen speziell für beschichtetes Canvas entwickelt. Dabei handelt es sich ebenfalls um Baumwollgewebe, das zusätzlich mit einer schützenden Beschichtung versehen ist und deshalb ganz andere Materialeigenschaften besitzt.

Genau für diese empfindlichen, beschichteten Canvas-Materialien wurde unser wasserbasierter Reiniger entwickelt, da herkömmliche Reiniger oder alkoholhaltige Produkte die Beschichtung angreifen können. Unbeschichteter Baumwollstoff verhält sich bei der Reinigung dagegen völlig anders: Er nimmt Flüssigkeiten und Schmutz tief in die Fasern auf. Ein Reinigungsprodukt kann ihn reinigen – es kann ihn jedoch weder neu einfärben noch seine ursprüngliche Farbe zurückbringen.

Beschichtetes Canvas und unbeschichteter Baumwoll-Canvas werden häufig verwechselt, unterscheiden sich in ihren Materialeigenschaften jedoch grundlegend und stellen deshalb auch unterschiedliche Anforderungen an die Pflege.

Sehr gute Reinigungsleistung in Kombination mit dem GLOW Cleaner

Ich habe die CLOW Brush zusammen mit dem GLOW Cleaner zur Reinigung des Canvas einer Vintage LV Tasche verwendet und der Reinigungseffekt war toll (wichtig: vorsichtig und sanft bürsten).
