GLOW BRUSH, made from 100% natural horsehair, supports thorough cleaning of leather and coated canvas. The fine, soft bristles help loosen dust and surface dirt and work GLOW CLEANER or CANVAS GLOW FOAM into textured surfaces.

On grained leather and heavier dirt in particular, the brush comes in where a microfibre cloth alone reaches its limits. With the soft horsehair bristles, you clean evenly without putting unnecessary pressure on the surface.

The GLOW BRUSH made from 100% natural horsehair is the right accessory for thorough cleaning of leather handbags and coated canvas. The fine, soft bristles help loosen dust and surface dirt and work cleaning products evenly into textured surfaces.

With the GLOW BRUSH, you can work in and lather the GLOW CLEANER or the CANVAS GLOW FOAM precisely. Especially on grained leather, textured surfaces and heavier dirt, the brush supports thorough and even cleaning.

For delicate or unfamiliar materials, we recommend testing on an inconspicuous area first.

How to use

Spray GLOW CLEANER onto the bag and work it in gently with the GLOW BRUSH using circular motions. Then wipe off any residue with a soft microfibre cloth.

For suitable genuine leather, we recommend the GLOW CONDITIONER after cleaning. It keeps the leather supple and protects against environmental influences such as sun, rain and dust.

Caring for the GLOW BRUSH: Mix lukewarm water with a few drops of mild soap in a bowl. Dip the brush in, move it gently and rinse under running water. Make sure no water gets into the wood. Leave to dry lying flat on a clean cloth at room temperature.

Note: A few hairs may come loose during the first uses. That’s normal and not a quality defect. Because this is natural horsehair, the fibres are not all exactly the same length. This settles quickly.

Why designer handbags need a different care routine

Leather care is just leather care, you might be thinking? Not quite. Fine lambskin reacts differently from grained calfskin, and coated canvas isn’t leather at all. Some high-quality handbags are even made of several materials at once. So their cleaning and care needs differ too.

Instead of treating bag care like classic shoe care, GLOWBAG follows a skincare routine: clean first, then care. The water-based GLOW CLEANER lifts surface dirt from suitable materials. Then GLOW CONDITIONER cares for suitable genuine leather and keeps it supple.

GLOW CONDITIONER contains lanolin and orange oil, among other ingredients, and GLOW CLEANER contains plant and orange peel extracts as well as glycine.

Founder Story

From an idea to a solution: the story behind GLOWBAG

It all started with my lambskin Chanel Flap from 2012. I loved it and carried it for years. Then I treated it with a leather care product that did it no good at all. The leather turned grey, dull and sticky.

I was disappointed. And angry. Mostly because I thought I had done something good for my bag. While looking for an alternative, I noticed that many leather care products are sold for shoes, furniture and other leather goods alike. But I wanted care made specifically for high-quality handbags.

So I developed GLOWBAG and rethought bag care, inspired by skincare. Cleaning and care are two separate steps, with water-based formulas matched to the different materials of high-quality handbags.

For everyone who loves their bag. And knows what it’s worth.

Answers to the most common questions

What makes GLOWBAG different from conventional leather care?

GLOWBAG was developed specifically for cleaning and caring for high-quality handbags and is inspired by skincare. As in a skincare routine, cleaning and care are two separate steps: the water-based GLOW CLEANER lifts surface dirt from suitable materials. Then GLOW CONDITIONER cares for suitable genuine leather and keeps it supple.

Rather than offering one universal solution for as many leather goods as possible, GLOWBAG is guided by the different materials of high-quality handbags, because smooth leather, grained leather and coated canvas have different cleaning and care needs.

Which leathers is GLOWBAG suitable for?

GLOWBAG is suitable for many smooth and grained handbag leathers such as lambskin, calfskin or caviar leather. You can also use GLOW CLEANER on coated canvas, patent leather and synthetic surfaces. GLOW CONDITIONER is intended only for genuine leather.

GLOWBAG care products are not suitable for suede, nubuck, velour, highly porous leather or exotic leathers such as crocodile, snake or ostrich leather. If you’re unsure about the material, test GLOWBAG on an inconspicuous area first.

Can I use GLOWBAG on vintage bags?

Yes, GLOWBAG is also suitable for many vintage handbags. What matters most is the material and its condition, less the age of the bag.

So with vintage bags, check before use what leather or material it is and whether the surface is still intact. On suitable smooth and grained leathers, GLOW CLEANER can lift surface dirt and GLOW CONDITIONER can then care for the leather and keep it supple. Always test on an inconspicuous area first.

Important: patina is preserved. Deeply absorbed stains, discolouration or existing material damage cannot always be removed by care.

Is GLOWBAG also suitable for Vachetta leather?

GLOWBAG can be used carefully on evenly patinated Louis Vuitton Vachetta leather. It’s important to always treat a continuous area of leather evenly and not just clean individual spots. Because Vachetta can absorb moisture quickly, GLOW CLEANER should be applied with a soft cloth rather than directly onto the leather. Use only a small amount of GLOW CONDITIONER and then let the leather air-dry for at least 12, ideally 24 hours.

New, still very light Vachetta is particularly sensitive to moisture. Here we don’t recommend treating it with GLOW CLEANER or GLOW CONDITIONER. A protector suitable for Vachetta is the better choice.

The natural patina is preserved. After treatment, Vachetta can darken slightly and permanently. Deeply absorbed stains may also remain.

How often should I use GLOWBAG, and how long does a set last?

How often you should clean and care for your handbag depends on the material, use and condition. A bag you carry often usually needs more attention than one you use only now and then. So clean and care for suitable leather as needed rather than on a fixed schedule.

A GLOW DUO leather care set with 100 ml each of GLOW CLEANER and GLOW CONDITIONER is enough for about 20 to 30 complete applications, depending on the size of the bag and the amount of product used. That lets you clean and care for several handbags over a longer period.

And if you care for a pair of leather sandals in between: there’s enough for that too, of course.
